My name is Diana. And I'm the founder of Dulce Jewelers. I worked in Diamond District in New York. I always had a passion for jewelry, and I love jewelry myself. I always pay attention for the quality and natural materials. So I'd like to explain you a little better what's the difference between different metals so when you're shopping you're aware of what you're getting and paying for. Quality Metals
In Dulce Jewelers we use natural Materials and resources: Solid Golds: 14K Gold and 10K Gold, Gold-Filling, Sterling Silver, Vermeil Gold and Brass. We use Rhodium and Gold for plating to last it longer.
Sourcing
We strive to source the highest quality, authentic gemstones to make your piece as meaningful and real as is beautiful. As a result, all of our gemstones and crystals come in variations of color, pattern, and texture. We consider that these variations are what make your piece of jewelry that extra special and unique—a unique reflection of you.
We use conflict-free sources and natural crystals, genuine gemstones and diamonds from around the world.

So What'd be the best Jewelry Investment?
The best investment into your jewelry is Solid Gold jewelry: 14k, 10k and 18k Gold. It's always the highest quality and most durable. Gold jewelry lasts for years and can serve as a family heirloom and be transferred through generations. Gold jewelry is the best for the daily wear. So all talisman, initials and your most favorite jewelry is better to get in solid gold, so you can enjoy it for years.
But solid gold jewelry tarnishes too. And it can be cleaned easily either at home or at any local jeweler smith or store. If you like to shower and sleep with your jewelry on - Gold jewelry can handle it. But the more you shower, sweat and use lotions, the quicker your jewelry will tarnish. But if you keep it dry, it'll make your jewelry happy =) So when you wipe your hands wipe your jewelry too!
Gold Filled Jewelry is a great investment of your money into jewelry that will lasts long. After the solid gold, gold-filled jewelry takes the first place for its quality and durability. Gold filled jewelry is more affordable than gold, but tarnishes much longer than vermeil gold and gold-plated jewelry because it has a much thicker layer of gold (At least 5 %).
Vermeil gold is the better quality, comparing it to Gold plated jewelry. Vermeil gold is a thicker layer of gold plating over the sterling silver. And Gold-Plating is a thin layer of gold plating over the brass or another metal. Vermeil gold lasts a bit longer than gold plating. Still vermeil gold and gold-plated jewelry is a good investment if you like fashion jewelry, and you want to try new styles, chasing trends and just can't go without jewelry and love it too much as I do =) But make sure that you take extra care of vermeil gold and gold-plated jewelry and try to keep it away from water, creams and lotions, scratching (stack it wisely) and keep it dry and store it separately in a pouch or in a jewelry box.
*Vermeil gold jewelry doesn't turn your finger green. Gold-plated can if it has copper. The abundance of copper in the alloy creates this hue.
And do not believe the Ads that claim to sell water-resistant and tarnish resistant jewelry. Jewelry doesn't tarnish immediately as you pour the water on, it takes time, wear, light, water and some sweat aka salt. Pure chemistry =)
All metals and golds tarnish and scratch over time. With no exceptions. Some can be cleaned and polished, and some need a fresh layer of gold plating.
Jewelry tarnishes, oxidizes, corrodes when it gets in touch with water and moisture like lotions, par fums, make up, soups and when it gets exposed to the sun.
That's why it's Important to take care of your jewelry. If you want your jewelry to last and last longer, take your jewelry off when cleaning, washing, taking showers and especially when using lotions and creams. But if you still do, then make sure to wipe any moisture off your jewelry.
So what to do?
1- Keep your jewelry dry and clean. Wipe off any moisture.
2- Store your jewelry. Before jewelry is stored, make sure it's it clean and dry.
3- How to store your jewelry? When you take it off, ideally keep it in a darker place or store it in a separate little pouch or ideally in the jewelry box, so your jewelry don't scratch and don't get exposed to the sun, so it can last longer.
